Scott MBA Enrollment Checklist
- Research the program.
- Meet the admission requirements.
- Ensure you have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Check your undergraduate GPA (2.7 or higher preferred).
- Note: GMAT/GRE scores are optional.
- Prepare your application materials.
- Official Transcripts: Request and upload transcripts from all previously attended institutions directly through the online application during the application process.
- Resume: Update your resume to highlight your professional and academic experience.
- Personal Statement: Write a compelling one-page statement explaining your motivation for pursuing the MBA, your career goals, and how the program will help you achieve them.
- Letters of Recommendation: These are optional but can strengthen your application.
- Complete the online application.

- Fill out the application form, upload your materials, and submit.
- Apply for financial aid (if needed).
- Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) at studentaid.gov.
- Research and apply for scholarships through Indiana State University or external sources.
- Check with your employer about tuition reimbursement options.
- Graduate Assistantships: Applicable to on-campus, full-time students only. Highly competitive and with limited availability. Must be admitted to apply. Visit jobs.indstate.edu to search for available openings.
- Review tuition and fees.
- Visit IndianaState.edu/costs-aid to understand the cost of attendance.
- Monitor your application status.
- Check your email used to create your online application regularly to see if any additional documents are needed. You may also log into the application portal to track your progress.
- Respond promptly to any requests from the Admissions office.
- Confirm your admission.
- Once admitted, confirm your acceptance of the offer and follow the instructions to secure your spot.
- Set up your Indiana State University email and activate your MyISU portal.
- Set up your Indiana State University email account. (Information for how to do this is sent to the email address you used to apply and contains your University ID number, username, and Indiana State University email address.)
- Activate your MyISU portal at portal.indstate.edu/ISU/login. (You must use Google Chrome to access this link.)
- Register for classes.
- View your Scott MBA degree requirements in MySam through your MyISU portal.
- Register for your classes.
- Academic advising is available to support you through the program, including navigating degree requirements, creating your plan of study, and answering any questions you may have. An initial advising appointment is required to register for your first semester of classes.
