How to Apply for Graduate Studies at Indiana State.

1. Choose Your Graduate Studies Program

At Indiana State, we offer a broad range of graduate programs including master's and doctoral degrees. You can also earn certificate and licensure credentials. Use our program finder to identify one that fits your professional goals and career ambitions.
 

2. Review Your Program's Admission Criteria, Requirements, and Deadlines

Graduate Studies applicants are required to submit academic transcripts and proof of degree. Additionally, each graduate program will have different application criteria and deadlines

3. Apply to Graduate Studies at Indiana State University

  • Our graduate programs utilize the Centralized Application Service (CAS). Complete your application online. You can always save it and return later. Be sure to carefully review your information before submitting.
  • You will need to pay a non-refundable $45 application fee to apply for graduate studies at Indiana State. The fee is payable by Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit card.

4. Prepare and Submit Application Materials

Gather and send any materials you need to submit to Indiana State as part of your graduate program application.
You may also need to submit additional documents based on your graduate program requirements.

Transcripts

  • Returning Students
    If you’ve taken classes at Indiana State University before, you do not need to order an Indiana State transcript. We already have access to your coursework here.
  • What Makes a Transcript “Final”?
    • A transcript is considered final when:
      It shows no coursework in progress.
      If applicable, it lists your graduation date.
  • What Makes a Transcript “Official”?
    • For domestic transcripts:
      Must come directly from the issuing institution to Indiana State; must not pass through the student’s hands.

  • Graduate Applicants
    • Degree-seeking programs: 
      Submit a final official undergraduate transcript showing your degree earned.
    • Guest or non-degree graduate students: 
      Proof of undergraduate degree earned (transcript not required).
    • Doctoral applicants: 
      Submit a final official graduate transcript showing your graduate degree earned.

Military-affiliated students who are not Indiana residents will be granted the Indiana resident tuition rate upon admission.
