It’s Easy to Apply Online
Take the first step toward earning a degree at Indiana State by filling out our online application. While the application will look a bit different depending on what type of student you are, every Indiana State applicant will:
- Create an Account: The first time you visit, you'll create an admissions account so you can access the application. You can then complete and submit your application in one session or save your work and finish it later.
- Submit Your Application: Select the major or program you're interested in and your desired starting semester.
- Send Additional Materials: Collect and send any documentation related to your application, such as high school or college transcripts and standardized test scores.
What Type of Student Are You?
Apply as a freshman to Indiana State if you:
- Have completed your junior year in high school OR have graduated high school and have not enrolled in another college upon graduating; and
- Are a US citizen or permanent resident.
If you have completed Indiana’s High School Equivalency (HSE) or GED and have not enrolled in college previously, you will also apply using the Freshman application.

- Have not attended Indiana State for more than two calendar years; or
- Want to continue your studies after previously completing an Indiana State degree.
Non-degree students want to take Indiana State courses for credit but do not intend to earn a degree.
arrow_forward Learn about Non-Degree AdmissionIf you are a student entering Ivy Tech Community College or Vincennes University, you may qualify for dual credit. You will complete two years at one of these schools to earn your associate degree, and then attend Indiana State to earn your bachelor's degree. This option is not for students who are or will soon be finished with their studies at Ivy Tech or Vincennes University.

Important Application Dates
Be sure to meet all Indiana State admission deadlines to begin school in your desired session. We also encourage you to apply early, especially if you would like to be considered for University scholarships.
Note: Some applicant types may have different deadlines. Be sure to check the admission page for your student type for more specific timelines.
Undergraduate Application Priority Dates
- Fall semester: June 1
- Spring semester: December 1
- Summer session: May 1
Applications received after these deadlines will be accepted. We will make every attempt to ensure consideration for the desired semester or term, but space is not guaranteed.
Graduate Application Priority Dates
To be accepted for your desired term, we encourage you to meet the required deadline.
- Fall semester: June 1
- Spring semester: December 1
- Summer session: May 1
