The John C. Hook Observatory series at Indiana State University offers public lectures and stargazing events designed to inspire interest in astronomy and space science. This program provides an opportunity for participants to explore celestial phenomena and engage with experts in the field, fostering a deeper appreciation for the universe.

The John Hook Memorial Observatory offers nighttime viewing of the Moon, planets, nebulae, and galaxies.

Visits to the observatory are free and open to the public. 

The observatory is located on the roof of the Science Building and is accessed via the front entrance of the Science Building located on the south side of the building facing the ISU fountain.   Access to the roof is by way of a small staircase next to the elevator on the third floor.
