The online Healthcare Leadership (DHSc) program is open to eligible students in the U.S. (including the District of Columbia and all U.S. territories) and to most international students who hold (or anticipate) a master’s degree.

All courses are available through Indiana State Online, and on-campus visits are not required. The healthcare leadership doctorate program is flexible, offering eight- and 16-week terms with five start dates throughout the academic year.

As an academic leader with more than 15 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Lindsey Eberman specializes in leadership education, curriculum development, and clinical scholarship. Currently serving as a Professor and Program Director at Indiana State University, she is passionate about fostering academic excellence and advancing educational practices.
Dr. Eberman's areas of expertise include academic and healthcare leadership, and she brings skills and experience in accreditation, curricular design and instruction, interprofessional education, simulation, healthcare education, and public speaking. Her research focuses on education, professional development, and inclusion. Recognized with multiple awards for teaching and research, Dr. Eberman is committed to mentoring the next generation of leaders in academia and healthcare.

Dr. Kenneth Games is a forward-thinking leader in higher education who specializes in optimizing the quality, market viability, and student experience in graduate education. With expertise in strategic enrollment management, innovative program development, and transformational leadership, he has successfully increased graduate enrollment, expanded online and hybrid offerings, and restructured academic units to enhance institutional effectiveness at Indiana State University.
Previously, Dr. Games served as professor and director of clinical education for the Doctor of Athletic Training program in the College of Health and Human Services, where he taught in the areas of athletic training, exercise science, applied medicine, rehabilitation, and whole-body wellness. He has also worked in a clinical capacity with Olympic athletes, firefighters, military personnel, and healthcare providers.
Dr. Games has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and secured $3.5 million in grants to advance educational innovation. His internationally recognized work continues to shape policy and practice in higher education and healthcare, while his leadership has championed faculty advocacy, student engagement, and institution-wide quality improvement.

As a dedicated healthcare provider and leader with a diverse professional background, Dr. Matthew Rivera brings extensive experience in health sciences education, research, and leadership to his classes. Through innovative research and personalized education, Dr. Rivera aims to advance healthcare education, manual therapy practices, and quality improvement for healthcare professionals.
Dr. Rivera’s research explores enhancing athletic healthcare access and fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals through professional identity development.
What You’ll Learn in the Online Healthcare Leadership (DHSc) Program
Our online healthcare leadership doctorate consists of 30 credits in three core areas: Healthcare Leadership and Innovation; Health Equity and Social Justice; and Healthcare Quality and Informatics. You must also choose a healthcare leadership concentration in one of three areas: Population Health, Orthopedic Manual Therapy, or Health Professional Education. These concentrations offer self-driven, personalized learning options.
The online Healthcare Leadership (DHSc) program is offered in eight- and 16-week terms. Throughout, you will engage in practice-based quality improvement, which requires research methods and statistics. The healthcare leadership doctorate concludes with a practice-based scholarly experience. A dissertation is not required.
Students are expected to complete the Healthcare Leadership (DHSc) program within seven years and to maintain a 3.0 GPA. You may transfer credits from prior coursework, take a department-level examination to earn credit for prior learning, or be advised into available courses.

All students seeking admission to the Healthcare Leadership (DHSc) program must apply to and be accepted as a graduate student by Indiana State University. Applicants are encouraged to schedule a meeting with program faculty to ensure the program is a good fit for their professional goals.
Admission Requirements and Information
Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree and a graduate degree in any field from a regionally accredited institution. For example, applicants may have a master’s degree or an advanced practice/clinical doctorate degree.
Note: Returning Indiana State University students must apply for re-admission if they have not attended Indiana State University for more than two calendar years.
Applicant should have earned a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 for the most recent coursework.
The GRE (Graduate Record Examination) is not required for this program.

The Healthcare Leadership (DHSc) program has rolling admissions, which means we will review your application and communicate our decision to you throughout the year. There is no formal cohort, and the program offers five start dates throughout the academic year: January, March, June, August, and October.
Next Steps
Once admitted, students receive notification from the University as well as their University ID number needed to activate their University Username on the MyISU Portal [http://isuportal.indstate.edu/]. The Portal offers access to online registration, University records, and other important University services, including e-mail and University announcements.
