Led by Interim Vice President and Provost Brad Balch, PhD, the Division of Academic Affairs provides the leadership and direction that shape Indiana State’s academic experience and support its faculty. Working in close partnership with the President, the division helps define the university’s academic priorities and ensures that teaching, learning, and scholarly activity remain forward‑looking and rooted in opportunities that help students thrive.

The Division of Enrollment Management leads the University’s effort to bring new students into an environment where they can grow, feel supported, and stay on track to graduate. The team, led by Vice President Maribeth Stevens and including Admissions, New Student Programs, Financial Aid, and University Marketing, works closely with campus partners to open doors for prospective students, guide them through each step of their enrollment journey, and ensure they have what they need to progress confidently through their degree path.

The Division of Finance & Administration provides the essential stewardship that keeps Indiana State moving forward. Through careful management of the university’s business operations—including budgeting, accounting, procurement, facilities, public safety, human resources, and related services—the division, led by Vice President and University Treasurer Seth Hinshaw, supports a strong, responsive infrastructure that enables students, faculty, and staff to thrive. 

The Division of Student Experience & Engagement helps students find their place at Indiana State by creating opportunities and environments that help them grow, become involved, and feel supported. Through experiences that build confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging, the division, led by Vice President Nancy Rogers, PhD, works to ensure every student can navigate campus life with momentum and thrive within a close-knit learning community.

The Division of University Advancement strengthens Indiana State’s future by cultivating a community of Sycamores who invest in the University’s students, momentum, and long‑term impact. Advancement is home to the ISU Foundation and is led by Vice President and Foundation CEO Andrea Angel. The division works side‑by‑side with alumni, donors, and friends of the University to connect philanthropic passions with opportunities that elevate the student experience and fuel institutional progress.

Sycamore Athletics invests in student‑athletes’ growth on and off the field by fostering a culture built on integrity, accountability, and pride in the Blue and White. Led by Athletic Director Nathan Christensen, the department creates an environment where student‑athletes are supported academically, challenged competitively, and encouraged to lead with character. Through this commitment, Athletics helps cultivate graduates who are prepared, confident, and ready to make an impact wherever they go.

The Office of the General Counsel provides trusted legal guidance to Indiana State University, supporting the Board of Trustees, the President, and campus leadership in navigating complex issues with clarity and integrity. The team, led by General Counsel J.D. Lux, works in partnership with the University community to protect Indiana State’s interests, uphold its values, and ensure a strong, responsible foundation for the institution’s continued progress.

University Communication strengthens Indiana State University’s visibility by building trusted relationships with the media and sharing stories that highlight the University’s people, achievements, and impact. The team, led by Chief Public Relations Officer Steve Susens, provides clear guidance during emerging issues, coordinates timely alerts with Public Safety, and manages all media inquiries to ensure the University’s voice is accurate, consistent, and aligned with its values.
