Join a Group Exercise Class 

When you become a member of Indiana State’s Student Recreation Center, you can take part in instructor-led group exercise classes designed to keep you active and promote positive health and wellness. Members of the SRC will need to purchase the semester group exercise membership for $25.00 to take classes through the semester. Once you’ve received your semester pass, bring your ID card and swipe into a class! 

Classes will be offered as a “trial” period during the first week of classes each semester.

Group Exercise Classes

Looking for a workout that does it all? The body conditioning class delivers a full-body workout with strength training, core work, and cardio designed to build muscular endurance and improve overall fitness. You’ll move through a dynamic warm-up, targeted body-weight and resistance exercises, and finish with a well-earned cool-down stretch. This class is guaranteed to leave you feeling stronger.

Short on time? The Power 45* class is for you. This 45-minute  high-intensity interval training (HIIT) class packs a serious punch with full-body intervals that challenge your strength and cardio. It’s fast and energizing. 

Make a splash while you sweat! This low-impact water aerobics class begins with a gentle warm-up, moves into an energizing aerobic segment, and finishes with a cool-down and stretches – all in shallow water. This class is easy on the joints but still delivers a great workout. 

Note: You must be enrolled in the OLLI program to take this class.

Slow down and breathe deep. This low-intensity class guides you through gentle stretches and flowing yoga sequences in a calm, welcoming environment. You’ll improve flexibility and mobility while giving your mind a chance to reset. Start your day with better balance and flow.

A Pilates class blends the elements of yoga and controlled strength work, improving shoulder, core, and hip stability for all levels from beginner to advanced. No jumping is required – just focused movement and better control. You will still sweat! 

Why choose one workout when you can have three? This class begins with an energizing cycling session for heart-pumping cardio, then moves into 15-20 minutes of targeted core work, and finishes with full-body exercises. In one hour, you’ll walk away with a complete workout.

This high-energy cycling class takes you through steady resistance rides that build strength and stamina. From rolling flats to heavy hill climbs, you’ll get a great cardio workout that challenges your heart and legs while riding to an upbeat playlist. Bring a water bottle, because you’ll need it!

Feel tight? Stressed? This class focuses on functional mobility and flexibility in a relaxed, stress-free environment. Lengthen tight muscles, improve posture, and leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. This class is the perfect reset for your body.

This early morning high-intensity interval training (HIIT) class moves you through circuit-style workouts using free weights, body-weight exercises, and cardio intervals. It’s challenging and energizing for all ability levels. Don’t forget to bring your water bottle!
