What is the Student Government Association?
The Student Government Association is organized as a representative democracy. Under this system, your views as a student can be expressed whether by you or your representative to all other SGA members. SGA is divided into three branches; Executive, Legislative, and Judicial, with each having its respective duties, as well as the responsibility of working among each other to serve students that help comprise the ISU community.
How do I join the Student Government Association?
The Sycamore Leadership Coalition is the freshman leadership program sponsored by Student Government. It is completely student-run and any freshman may join. It provides unique opportunities to gain leadership experience and network across campus. If you are interested in becoming a Student Government Association Senate member, applications are available on the SGA page of the ISU Treehouse under the forms tab.
Student Advisory Boards are select groups of students that get to voice their opinions and offer constructive criticism to faculty and staff. Student Advisory Boards are selected specifically for each college through an application process.
