Message from Indiana State University President Mike Godard Regarding Weather-Related Facility Closures — Monday, January 26, 2026

Sycamores,

Due to ongoing inclement weather and in the interest of campus safety, I want to share important updates regarding University operations for Monday, January 26, 2026.

  • Indiana State University will be closed.
  • All on-campus classes, events and meetings are canceled.
  • University offices will be closed.
  • The Sycamore Dining Hall will open from 9am to 8pm.
  • The Cunningham Memorial Library and the Student Recreation Center will open from 11am to 10pm.
  • The Hulman Memorial Student Union will be open 8am to 8pm.
  • Some essential employees will be required to physically be present on campus to ensure the safety and continued operation of the University.  Such designated employees will be notified in advance of this requirement by their supervisor. Examples of essential employees include: Campus Police Officers, Dispatchers, Steam Plant Operators, Grounds personnel, and other designated Maintenance staff.
  • With the approval of supervisors, non-essential employees may work remotely if job duties allow for remote work during times of campus closure.

The safety and well-being of our campus community remain our highest priority. I encourage students, faculty, and staff to continue monitoring official Indiana State University communication channels for updates regarding class instruction, campus services, and University operations.

Additional updates will be shared via:

  • University email

Please take care and stay safe.
