Why Earn a Sport Administration Graduate Certificate at Indiana State?

Managing an athletic program takes more than a passion for sports. It also requires the skills to read a budget, manage risk, and lead an organization through the challenge of change.

Two required courses in this graduate certificate provide you with the operational core: how athletic programs and businesses are managed day to day, and how to navigate the legal and risk questions that come with running one.

As your elective, you can take Sport Finance to sharpen your budget and revenue skills, or select Analytical Decision-Making in Sport to build your comfort with data. Either way, you’ll gain practical tools you can use in budget meetings, risk assessments, staffing decisions, and more.

Every course is fully online and asynchronous to accommodate your other life and career responsibilities. The Sport Administration Graduate Certificate stands on its own as a nine-credit credential. It also fulfills one of two required certificates inside Indiana State's MS in Sport Leadership and Administration. If you pursue the full 30-credit degree, the courses you complete here carry will count toward your master’s degree.
