Benefit from a Program Designed for Adult Learners
In response to an overwhelming need for teachers, the University offers an online Special Education Transition to Teaching (T2T) program for individuals who already hold bachelor’s degrees and now want to further their careers and obtain an Indiana teaching license.
Online Special Education T2T is a graduate-level, non-degree, initial licensure program that prepares students to work with students with mild intervention needs in grades P-12. The program includes 24 credits that can be completed in 16-18 months of part-time study. Students may begin the program in May, August, or January.
Courses are offered online. Student teaching is required in the final semester of study. The department assists each student in finding a placement. However, the student must make the contact and arrangements.
Emergency Teaching Permits
Individuals who are enrolled in the program are eligible for a T2T permit that allows them to begin teaching while completing the program. Visit the Indiana Department of Education to explore open teaching positions or for information about emergency permits.
