Benefit from a Program Designed for Adult Learners

In response to an overwhelming need for teachers, the University offers an online Elementary Education Transition to Teaching (T2T) program for individuals who already hold bachelor’s degrees and now want to further their careers and obtain an Indiana teaching license.

Online Elementary Education T2T is a graduate-level, non-degree, initial licensure program that prepares students to be generalist classroom teachers at the elementary grade levels. The program includes 24 credits that can be completed in 16-18 months of part-time study. Students may begin the program in May, August, or January.

Courses are offered online. Student teaching, which is required in the final semester of study, consists of two six-week placements. The department assists each student in finding a placement. However, the student must make the contact and arrangements.

Emergency Teaching Permits

Individuals who are enrolled in the program are eligible for a T2T permit that allows them to begin teaching while completing the program. Visit the Indiana Department of Education to explore open teaching positions or for information about emergency permits.
