Indiana State University President Mike Godard has been named to the 2026 Indiana 250, an annual recognition by Indiana Business Journal (IBJ) Media honoring the state's most influential business and community leaders.
Now in its fifth year, the Indiana 250 recognizes leaders from public and private organizations across Indiana who are helping shape the future of the state through innovation, leadership and service. The list is compiled by IBJ Media executives, editors and newsroom staff following a months-long evaluation process that includes reviewing nominations, researching organizations and consulting with community leaders throughout Indiana.
"It is an honor to be recognized alongside so many individuals who are making a meaningful difference across our state," Godard said. "This recognition reflects the collective efforts of Indiana State University's faculty, staff, students, alumni and supporters who are committed to expanding opportunities for our students, strengthening our communities and advancing Indiana's future. I am proud to share this recognition with the entire Sycamore family."
Since becoming Indiana State University's 13th president, Godard has led initiatives focused on increasing student success, strengthening enrollment, enhancing the university's financial position and expanding partnerships with business, industry and community organizations. Under his leadership, the university has advanced strategic priorities centered on the university’s Culture of Care, career-connected learning, workforce development and community engagement while reinforcing Indiana State University’s role as a regional and statewide economic driver.
According to IBJ Media, the Indiana 250 recognizes "Indiana's boldest thinkers and doers shaping the future of our state." The 2026 class includes leaders representing business, higher education, healthcare, government, philanthropy, manufacturing, technology and nonprofit organizations from every region of Indiana.
"The people on this list are not just leaders in their fields, they are champions for their communities and catalysts for growth and innovation across Indiana," said Nate Feltman, CEO and publisher of IBJ Media, in announcing this year's honorees.
The 2026 Indiana 250 honorees were recognized during a special event Tuesday evening in Indianapolis.
