Dr. Mike Godard became the 13th president of Indiana State University on June 1, 2024. He brings with him a wealth of experience in higher education leadership, a strong commitment to student success, and a passion for fostering collaboration and innovation.
Dr. Godard has held various academic and administrative positions and led initiatives that boosted student retention, improved graduation rates, and expanded academic programs to align with workforce demands. A first-generation college graduate, Dr. Godard holds a PhD in Human Bioenergetics from Ball State University, a master’s in Exercise Physiology from Adelphi University, and a bachelor’s in Exercise Science from Vermont State University - Castleton.
Personal Life
Dr. Mike Godard and his wife, Kathryn, reside in Terre Haute, Indiana, and are proud parents to their two adult sons, Grant and Lance.
