The English Language Institute, founded in Fall 2024 by Dr. Yong Joon Park at Indiana State University’s Bayh College of Education, focuses on international partnerships and global teacher education programs.

About

English Language Institute was founded in Fall of 2024 as a part of Bayh College of Education (BCOE) by director, Dr. Yong Joon Park, a professor of the Department of Teaching and Learning, and a BCOE Dean’s fellow of Bayh College of Education, Indiana State University (ISU). Dr. Park has been working on international partnerships with Korean or Japanese higher institutions and creating the Global Teacher Education Programs and Afterschool language and culture programs. He is initiating the new business, English Language Institute, in the fall of 2024. 

Purpose

The main purpose of the institute is to create mutual benefits between the State of Indiana or Terre Haute local partners and global partners of ISU. The Institute will offer various English language and culture programs such as 1) for degree-seeking students, potential undergraduate and graduate students, who are coming to Indiana State University and 2) for both undergraduate or graduate students for the non-degree short-term English language and culture programs from the partnering institutions overseas.

Purpose of the Program

This program can vary depending on the partnering institution’s request and purpose. We will design the program consulting with the partnering institution. Thus, the program duration and program delivery format can be changed for the purpose or request.
