Program Highlights

The online Property-Casualty Insurance Certificate program provides career-specific training to students interested in advancing their careers in insurance, risk management, and related business fields. The program’s curriculum is excellent preparation for professional designations, including the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) designation, one of the most highly sought insurance designations by insurance professionals.

The online certificate also prepares students for the Associate in General Insurance (AINS) designation and the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation. Information on specific state regulations for the insurance industry may be found on the National Association of Insurance Commissioners website.

The online Property-Casualty Insurance Certificate program consists of 12 credits consisting of four courses focusing on insurance products and risk management. Topics feature risk and insurance, insurance operations, commercial property risk management and insurance, and commercial liability risk management and insurance. Students investigate the operations and activities of property-casualty insurance companies related to marketing, underwriting, claims, pricing, investment, alternative risk transfers, regulations, and emerging exposures.
