What You'll Learn in the Computer Science Program
The Computer Science BS program gives you a strong foundation for a career in computing and related areas. You can complete our computer science bachelor's degree program in four years of full-time study.
Your core courses will introduce you to important programming and analytical concepts. You will learn about:
- Programming languages and language theory
- Data structures
- Algorithms
- Discrete mathematics
- Software design
You will also complete a senior design course in which you will create an independent computer science project. Also, you will take additional foundational and advanced courses by choosing at least one of the major's three concentrations.
Available Concentrations
Learn to develop systems-level software or software requiring careful optimization for efficiency. Build advanced skills and knowledge in data structures, algorithms, and systems programming. The skills and knowledge gained are fundamental to computer science and can be applied across other areas of the discipline. This concentration is ideal for students interested in pursuing a PhD.
