Program Availability

The Scott ProMBA is open to U.S. mid-career professionals who hold a bachelor’s degree, and who satisfy the program’s prerequisite academic coursework. At least three years of professional work experience is preferred for admission to this program. This hybrid, cohort-based MBA is currently offered in Westfield, Indiana, serving professionals in Indianapolis and surrounding regions.

The Scott ProMBA at Westfield is a cohort-based Master of Business Administration program offered exclusively to mid-career professionals through the Scott College of Business at Indiana State University. Advanced Business Education, Hybrid Format

The 30-credit ProMBA helps you build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to negotiate the challenges of an ever-changing business environment. Coursework focuses on real-world business practices and scenarios and the innovative approaches required to address them. The cohort format promotes professional relationships and expanded networks.

The ProMBA accommodates work-life balance for working professionals in the Indianapolis area. The program features hybrid instruction through technology-driven coursework and in-person evening classes taught locally in Westfield, Indiana by Scott College of Business faculty.

The ProMBA is a five-semester cohort program that begins each August. It totals 10 courses, with two courses running concurrently each semester. Classes meet one night per week from 5:30 – 10:00 p.m. for ten weeks.

The Scott ProMBA delivers exceptional graduate-level preparation for a dynamic career as a manager or business professional in the 21st-century workspace.

Study Abroad

Students in the ProMBA have the chance to travel abroad with faculty and staff for a short-term (10-12 day) study-abroad experience. These trips revolve around the topic of entrepreneurship abroad. There are additional fees for this travel opportunity, which is not a required component of the program.

Each May, a group of both undergraduate and graduate students travels to a different international location to learn about the culture, business landscape, and operations of entrepreneurs outside the United States. Past travel locations have included Brazil, Portugal, Croatia, India, among others!

Program Cost

The Scott ProMBA offers all-inclusive tuition that covers books, supplies, Professional Career Coaching, and meals on class nights. Total cost for the program is approximately $27,000.

Admission Requirements and Application Instructions

Applicants to the Scott ProMBA must satisfy the following requirements to be considered for admission. Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission to the program.

Admission Requirements

To be considered for regular admission to the ProMBA, an applicant must:

  1. Have earned a bachelor’s degree and a minimum cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) that meets one of the following:
    • 2.7 in all undergraduate course work
    • 3.0 in the last 60 credits of undergraduate course work
    • 3.0 in the applicant’s major field of study
    • 3.0 in all courses taken at the graduate level (minimum 9 credit hours).
    • Submit a professional resume; at least three years of professional work experience is preferred.
  2. Demonstrate English Language Proficiency as required by the Office of Graduate Studies (international applicants only).
  3. Meeting the minimum requirements listed above does not guarantee admission. An admission decision is based upon all previous academic coursework, resume, and, if required, English language proficiency. In some cases, a statement of purpose, personal interview, and/or letters of reference may be requested to support an application.

Students who do not meet the minimum requirements for regular admission may be considered for conditional admission if there is sufficient evidence that the individual is likely to succeed in the program.

Candidates admitted conditionally will be required to meet the conditions of regular admission within a specified time. These conditions may include, but are not limited to, achieving a specified grade point average in graduate course work and/or successfully completing specified course work.

If applicable to the Scott MBA, a maximum of six credit hours of graduate course work taken at an AACSB-accredited school of business may be accepted as transfer credit into the ProMBA program. Applicants would need to submit documentation in support of this request.

All applicants seeking admission to the ProMBA program must apply to and be accepted as a graduate student by Indiana State University and by the ProMBA program in the Scott College of Business. Some application steps differ for domestic and international applicants.

How to Apply

Complete the online application for admission to Indiana State at https://apply.indstate.edu/apply/.

In the application’s location drop-down menu, select “ISU Main Campus.” Then select “Professional MBA – Westfield, IN.”

Submit a nonrefundable application fee of $45.00 (U.S. citizens and permanent residents) or $65.00 (international students) payable by Visa, MasterCard, or check or money order payable to Indiana State University. Submit payment to: Indiana State University, Graduate Admissions, Welcome Center, 318 North Sixth Street, Terre Haute, IN, 47809.

Domestic Applicants: Submit official transcripts from all previously attended institutions. To be official, transcripts must be sent directly from the college attended to: Graduate Admissions, Indiana State University, Welcome Center, 318 North Sixth Street, Terre Haute, IN, 47809. E-transcripts should be sent to admissions@indstate.edu. Students who have previously attended Indiana State University do not need to have their transcripts sent to Graduate Admissions. We already have access to transcripts from Indiana State University.

International Applicants: Please upload unofficial transcripts from all previously attended institutions. Official transcripts are required if an admission is received. Application deadlines for the Scott ProMBA are August 1 for that year’s cohort. However, applicants are encouraged to apply by the priority deadline of June 15 to ensure full consideration for their desired cohort. Processing of applications typically takes fewer than 30 days.

Next Steps

Once admitted, you will receive notification from the University and will be provided your University ID number, which is needed to activate your University username on the MyISU Portal. The Portal offers access to online registration, University records, and other important services, including e-mail and University announcements.
