Undergraduates, please regularly check your Sycamore.indstate.edu emails for information from the Office of Registration and Records, and the Office of the Provost, regarding your specific ceremony. Graduate Students, please check your Sycamore.indstate.edu email for information from the College of Graduate and Professional Studies.
- Doors to Hulman Center will open at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, for the Graduate ceremony (this includes all Doctoral, Master's, and EdS degree candidates).
- Doors will open again at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, for the first Undergraduate ceremony, which will include all College of Arts & Sciences, Scott College of Business, and Bayh College of Education bachelor's degree candidates and will begin at Noon Eastern.
- Doors will reopen at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, 2024, for the last Undergraduate ceremony, which will include all College of Health & Human Services, and Bailey College of Engineering and Technology bachelor's degree candidates, with that ceremony beginning at 3:00 p.m.
You will enter through the street-level North doors (not the ramp) located at Eagle Street. Please arrive no later than 30 minutes before your scheduled ceremony time to allow for the check-in process.
You will need to bring the following:
- Regalia (cap/gown/honors stole/etc.)
- Students earning Latin graduation honors will be notified with details on picking up their stoles. We will have your stole at check-in if you have not picked it up prior to commencement day.
Leave all personal belongings in your vehicle or with your guests. There will be no place to store your personal items.
Once checked in, you will be escorted directly to the floor of the Hulman Center. Students are required to remain for the duration of the ceremony. Diploma covers will be placed on your seat. You are welcome to take it with you when your name is called as professional photographers will be snapping photos of your walk across the stage.
You will receive your commencement reader card (name card) at check-in. Readers will be available to ensure the proper pronunciation of your name. Keep your name card with you at all times! Once your row is requested to rise and be directed to the stage, you will hand your name card to the first Marshall. There will be an "X" at the top of the stairs of the stage where you will stand until your name is called. This allows for a continuous flow during the reading of candidate names.
Additional information regarding the delivery of your official transcript/diploma will be sent via email after degrees have been awarded, generally within 2 weeks of the close of the term.
Congratulations, you're graduating! What's next for you?
