Indiana State University students preparing for career fairs, internships, leadership opportunities, and job interviews this fall will have even more professional attire to choose from thanks to the generosity of Thompson Thrift and its employees.
After touring the Indiana State University Career Center’s Clothing Closet and learning about the impact it has on students, Thompson Thrift organized a company-wide professional clothing drive from July 6–17. Nearly 400 employees were invited to donate gently used professional clothing, resulting in a tremendous collection that will help students build a polished, professional wardrobe at no cost.
The Career Center Clothing Closet provides students with access to professional clothing throughout the academic year. Students may visit the closet as often as they like and select up to four items each month to keep, helping remove financial barriers while building confidence as they prepare for interviews, networking events, internships, career fairs, and campus leadership roles.
“Community partnerships like this help ensure our students have the resources they need to present themselves professionally and pursue meaningful career opportunities,” said Carrie Lutz, Associate Vice President of Student Experience and Engagement. “We’re incredibly grateful to Thompson Thrift and its employees for investing in the success of our Sycamores.”
Faculty and staff who have not yet visited the Clothing Closet are invited to stop by the Career Center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or join the Career Center for their Welcome Back Celebration and Student Employment Fair on Thursday, Aug. 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
