The longstanding partnership between Indiana State University and the Irish Heritage School was formally celebrated on Friday, May 22, during a special anniversary event in Birr, Ireland, recognizing a decade of international collaboration, service learning, and community engagement.
Over the past 10 years, more than 150 Indiana State students have participated in the university’s Service-Learning program through the Irish Heritage School, with many students returning multiple times to continue their work and deepen relationships within the local community.
During the celebration, Indiana State University Political Science Professor Dr. Linda Maule, who helped organize the trip, reflected on the close relationship that has developed between the two institutions and the people involved throughout the partnership.
The event also featured Indiana State University President Mike Godard, who highlighted the shared values that have strengthened the Indiana State University – Ireland connection through the years.
