Stewardship of Public Lands and Invasive Species
Zoe Newbold - Dede II
This session will cover what an invasive species is, where they come from, and some examples of invasive species you may see on properties around town. There will be a section on why people should care about invasive species and how they affect the public. This session will briefly touch on environmental justice issues that come along with the growing invasive population. The speaker will also discuss what the average person can do to help with this issue and some careers in the conservation field.
Zoe Newbold is the Steward of Public Lands at the ISU Office of Sustainability. She is in her sophomore year getting a bachelor's degree in environmental geoscience. Zoe is also the Vice President of Land Stewardship with Ouabache Land Conservancy and volunteers with Vigo Invasives Management.
