The Computer Science Accelerated Master’s is a traditional, on-campus program offered on the Indiana State University campus in Terre Haute, Indiana. The program is open to eligible U.S. and international students majoring in Computer Science.

As a student in the Computer Science Bachelor of Science (BS) program at Indiana State University, you may be eligible to participate in the Computer Science Accelerated Master’s (4+1) program. This degree option enables you to combine undergraduate and graduate courses and begin your master’s during your senior year of undergraduate study. This dual enrollment pathway enables you to complete your master’s one year after completing your bachelor’s. 

It is important to contact an academic advisor early in your studies to determine your eligibility, discuss program and GPA requirements, and plan your program of study.    

Flexible Options for Adult Learners  

Many students who choose to pursue the Computer Science degree are already working in industry, education, or government—and decide to return to school for formal study. For the benefit of working students, flexibility is designed into the delivery system and sequencing of courses.

What You’ll Learn in the Computer Science Program 

The Computer Science Accelerated Master’s is a flexible program that allows you to develop a program of study based on your educational and career goals. 

Throughout the program, an advisor will work with you to ensure a seamless pathway from your bachelor’s degree through the completion of your master’s. Your advisor will also help you select undergraduate and graduate areas of concentration based on your interests.  

Undergraduate concentrations include a Computing Science Concentration, a Data Science Concentration, and an Information Science Concentration.  

Graduate concentrations include an Academic Concentration, a Bioinformatics Concentration, a Data Science Concentration, and a Professional Concentration.

Graduates of the Computer Science Accelerated Master’s program are well-positioned for high-paying careers in computing and related areas. A few of the possible job titles include software engineer, database programmer/developer/administrator, web programmer/developer/administrator, systems administrator, networking administrator, mobile app developer, and computer and information research scientist.
