Program Availability 

The Band Instrument Repair undergraduate certificate program is open to students interested in band instrument repair. It is an on-campus certificate program. Students should consult their academic advisor before enrolling in courses to ensure suitability and to plan their program of study.

Program Highlights  

In the Band Instrument Repair certificate program, you’ll build the skills to repair woodwind and brass instruments while preparing for a specialized field with growing industry demand. Indiana State is one of the few four-year colleges or universities in the United States to offer a band instrument repair credential. The University employs a full-time instrument repair technician, which provides you with opportunities for hands-on training from a certified professional. 

Courses  

The Band Instrument Repair undergraduate certificate includes 16 credits of hands-on coursework in woodwind and brass instrument repair. You’ll develop practical repair techniques, learn the fundamentals of running a repair shop, and take an accounting course to support the business side of the profession.

Transfer Credit

Indiana State University accepts credit from regionally accredited colleges and universities within the United States, and from selected schools located outside the United States. Credit also may be granted for military training and experience. Previously earned college credit can be applied toward completion of the program per Indiana State's transfer guidelines.
