Technology Services on Campus

Indiana State provides all technology services necessary for employees to perform their job responsibilities. Faculty and staff who require a computer, as well as other technology-related tools, are provided with either a desktop or laptop configured with Microsoft Windows. Requests for Macintosh or other devices are considered on a case-by-case basis and generally require the approval of directors, department chairs, and/or deans.

With limited exceptions due to academic needs, all university-provided desktop and laptop computers are centrally managed by the Office of Information Technology and are configured to maintain baseline performance and security standards. Visit the Office of Information Technology Service Catalog for more information.

Indiana State provides a research-computing cluster for faculty and staff engaged in research activities. Students will need faculty sponsorship to access the cluster. The cluster uses the latest HPC Compute Blocks from Advanced Clustering Technologies and has a total of 560 cores, 1.78TB of RAM, and 21.50 TFLOPS of computing power.

Indiana State maintains a robust network environment providing connectivity at speeds up to 1Gbps for wired connections and completed a comprehensive Wi-Fi upgrade in the summer of 2023 composed of 3,500 wireless access points that support Wi-Fi 6.
