Open to All Majors and Class Ranks
Our program is accessible to students from all majors and class standings. While Communication majors are well-represented, we welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds.

Our students have a proven track record of success. In recent years, they've earned numerous awards from organizations like the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System, Broadcast Education Association, Indiana Association of School Broadcasters, and Indiana Collegiate Press Association.

Sycamore Yearbook

The Sycamore Yearbook

The Sycamore is Indiana State’s yearbook. The Sycamore tells stories about the previous school year and captures each event with photos. It is published each June. Students work as writers, photographers, page designers, editors and marketing managers. The Indiana Statesman

The Indiana Statesman is a student-run, multimedia news service which provides daily stories online along with a weekly print edition and email newsletter. Students work as writers, photographers, page designers and editors. They also sell advertising and deliver the newspaper. Syc Creations

Syc Creations

Syc Creations includes a digital media team and a production unit that provides corporate video, photography, and live streaming productions. The digital team develops and maintains the seven websites operated by Student Media units. Most are incorporated under the portal ISUStudentmedia.com. Students are involved as video producers, graphic designers, photographers, and webmasters. This group also produces client-driven video productions for customers on campus and in the community. Indiana State Sports Network

The Indiana State Sports Network

The Indiana State Sports Network produces live video for distribution on ESPN3 and ESPN+ as part of an agreement with the Missouri Valley Conference. A team of students and staff produce shows featuring women’s volleyball, soccer, football, men’s and women’s basketball, softball and baseball. Students involved in the Indiana State Sports Network work as camera operators, producers, directors, graphics and replay operators, audio engineers, announcers, and production assistants. Sycamore Video

Sycamore Video produces television shows, news stories, student films, and creative content fpr the website, Facebook (Sycamore Video-ISU Student Media), and Instagram account. Each week, the staff produces a campus news program (This Week at ISU) and interview show (Almost Live), and short video pieces which are created for our social media. Students work behind the cameras as producers, directors, videographers, multi-media journalists, writers, video editors, and in front of the camera as reporters and program hosts. All members serve as production assistants in the television studio to help provide important and current information to the campus community. WZIS

WZIS, 90.7 FM

WZIS, 90.7 FM, is the student-staffed radio station. It broadcasts popular music, news, and sports to the Wabash Valley. At the station, students work as disc jockeys, sports announcers and news reporters. Students also get experience in marketing, promotions, multimedia, photography, esports, podcasts, vodcasts and audio production. We also provide DJ services for campus events. WISU, 89.7 FM

WISU, 89.7 FM, 89.7 WISU-FM, is the public radio affiliate of WFYI-FM in Indianapolis. It provides National Public Radio and other local, state and national public affairs programming to west-central Indiana and east-central Illinois.
