The online Computer Science BS is open to eligible students in the U.S. (including the District of Columbia and all U.S. territories). The program also is open to students in Canada (all provinces). The program is closed to students residing in countries other than the U.S. and Canada except for U.S. military and State Department personnel and their family members with APO/FPO addresses.

What You'll Learn in the Online BS in Computer Science Program

Our bachelor's degree in computer science will teach you to write and debug programs, analyze large data sets, and store data efficiently. You can complete your degree in four years of full-time study, and we also offer the option of part-time study.

As an online learner, you will be able to complete courses based on your schedule, giving you flexibility. Once you graduate, you'll be ready for a career in computing and related fields.

In your core coursework, you will learn fundamental programming and analytical principles such as programming structures, discrete structures and computing theory, computer organizations, and programming languages. You will also complete a senior design course to create an independent computer science project.

Concentrations

Prepare for a career developing and optimizing software, such as operating systems and game engines. You'll study how to write computer programs, organize data, and program algorithms. This concentration will also prepare you for PhD programs.

Learn to explore data to find insights. Our data science courses will teach you to collect, analyze, and interpret data to find solutions and answer questions. You’ll study topics including machine learning, artificial intelligence, data storage, and data sets and formats, and interfaces.

Specialize in database and data management, web programming, security, and systems administration. In this concentration, you will learn to manage digital information efficiently and securely with courses that include files and database systems, computer security, Unix/Linux administration, and Networking.
