The online and on-campus Scott MBA is open to U.S. and international students who hold (or anticipate) a bachelor’s degree, and who satisfy the program’s prerequisite academic coursework.
Admission Requirements
GMAT/GRE scores are optional and not required for admission to this program.
To be considered for regular admission to the Scott MBA, an applicant must:
- Have earned a bachelor's degree and a minimum cumulative grade point average (4.0 scale) that meets one of the following:
- 2.7 in all undergraduate coursework
- 3.0 in the last 60 credits of undergraduate coursework
- 3.0 in the applicant’s major field of study
- 3.0 in all courses taken at the graduate level (minimum 9 credit hours)
- Submit a professional resume and personal statement.
- Demonstrate English language proficiency as required by the Office of Graduate Studies (international applications only).
Meeting the minimum requirements listed above does not guarantee admission. An admission decision is based upon all previous academic coursework, resume, and, if required, English language proficiency. In some cases, a statement of purpose, personal interview, and/or letters of reference may be requested to support an application.

Our dedicated support teams and flexible course structure make it possible to maintain your full-time job while earning your degree. Most of our students are working professionals who take one or two courses per term and complete the 33-credit program in 12 to 24 months.
When you pursue the On-Campus Scott MBA, you can:
- Take courses in the evening at our Terre Haute campus.
- Study full-time or part-time based on your schedule.

What You’ll Learn in the Scott MBA Program
Both the Online Scott MBA and On-Campus Scott MBA consist of a 24-credit core curriculum that provides a strong foundation in business strategy, finance, leadership, marketing, operations, and more.
You’ll then complete either:
- 6 credit hours of electives if you choose the General MBA, or
- 9 credit hours of electives if you pursue a specific MBA concentration.
Core Courses
Core courses are the foundation of the Scott MBA, providing advanced knowledge and skills in strategic thinking, leadership, decision-making, and effective communication. Students complete eight core courses for a total of 24 credit hours, followed by an additional 6-9 credit hours depending on whether students pursue the General MBA option (30 credits total) or add a concentration (33 credits total).

Global Learning Opportunities
Students in the Scott MBA have the unique opportunity to participate in a short-term (10-12 day) study-abroad experience focused on entrepreneurship in an international context. Each May, a group of undergraduate and graduate students travels to a new destination to explore the culture, business environment, and entrepreneurial practices outside the United States.
Past locations have included Brazil, Portugal, Croatia, and India, among others. Please note that additional fees apply for this enriching travel experience.
Tuition and Financial Aid

In addition to standard graduate tuition, Scott MBA students are assessed an MBA program fee of $129 per credit hour to support student development, faculty advancement, and program enhancement initiatives.
Actual tuition will depend on several factors, including:
- The number of credit hours you take during an academic term;
- When you take a course; and
- The length of time it takes you to complete your degree.

Indiana State University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. In addition,we are accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International), a distinction held by only six percent of business schools globally. Additional Admission Information and Application Instructions
Conditional Admission
Students who do not meet the minimum requirements for regular admission may be considered for conditional admission if there is sufficient evidence that the individual is likely to succeed in the program.
Candidates admitted conditionally will be required to meet the conditions of regular admission within a specified time. These conditions may include, but are not limited to, achieving a specified grade point average in graduate coursework and/or successfully completing specified coursework.
Transfer Credits
If applicable to the Scott MBA, a maximum of six credit hours of graduate coursework taken at an AACSB-accredited school of business may be accepted as transfer credit into the Scott MBA program. Applicants would need to submit documentation in support of this request.
Application Instructions
All applicants to the Scott MBA program must be accepted both as a graduate student by Indiana State University and by the MBA program in the Scott College of Business. The application process varies slightly for domestic and international applicants.

The name of the college will need to be supplied for each program.
After selecting that you are applying for Graduate or International>Graduate admissions, you must select the college for your program. This program is in the Scott College of Business.
Submit a nonrefundable application fee of $93.00 ($35 Indiana State University application fee + $78 BusinessCAS processing fee) for U.S. citizens and permanent residents or $113.00 ($55 Indiana State University application fee + $78 BusinessCAS processing fee) for international students.
Domestic Applicants:
When applying, submit official transcripts from all previously attended institutions. If you have any undergraduate work or degrees from Indiana State University, you do NOT need to request them. They will automatically be uploaded to your application after you submit it.
International Applicants:
When applying, upload unofficial transcripts from all previously attended institutions. If admitted, official transcripts will be required. To be considered official, transcripts must be sent directly from the institution to:

The On-campus MBA program offers start terms in August and January, while the Online MBA program provides additional start dates in August, October, January, March, and June. Applicants are encouraged to apply by the priority deadlines listed below to ensure full consideration for their preferred term. Application processing typically takes less than 30 days.

Next Steps
Once admitted, you will receive notification from the University along with your University ID number. This is needed to activate your University username on the MyISU Portal, which provides access to online registration, University records, email, and important announcements.
